I started my career at a company called Red Ventures. One of the core tenants of the company was a saying, “leave the woodpile higher than you found it”. I was determined to see it through. I worked hard to beat performance goals, earn the company more money and accelerate growth. And by the time I left, I succeeded.
However, that was not my contribution to the woodpile.
My contribution to the woodpile was developing people, in both small intimate forums and longer mentorships. Mentorship is meaningful not because we are smart, it’s because we love it and we believe in it, and ourselves.
That’s why I created this website, that’s why I started to write, that’s why you’re reading a mentorship form now. Beyond work, beyond marketing – I’m fulfilled by helping and inspiring others. Difference is, I’m not at Red Ventures, and you (probably) aren’t there either.
