Interested in Mentorship?

I started my career at a company called Red Ventures. One of the core tenants of the company was a saying, “leave the woodpile higher than you found it”. I was determined to see it through. I worked hard to beat performance goals, earn the company more money and accelerate growth. And by the time I left, I succeeded.

However, that was not my contribution to the woodpile.

My contribution to the woodpile can be summed up in two memories:

One memory was creating a meeting during the bleakest moments of COVID lockdown named “Good Vibes Friday’, with the singular goal of connecting coworkers without having to talk about work.

The other memory was a small but mighty reaction an old direct report gave me when I presented her a new project. “To be honest, I didn’t think you’d pick me. I normally don’t get projects like these,” she said.

I share those two memories because they’ve each led me to some of my proudest mentorship moments – and mentorship was ultimately my greatest contribution to the Red Ventures woodpile.

That’s why I created this website, that’s why I started to write, that’s why you’re reading a mentorship form now. Beyond work, beyond marketing – I’m fulfilled by helping and inspiring others. Difference is, I’m not at Red Ventures, and you (probably) aren’t there either.

So to make this mentorship idea work, I’m taking a leap of faith, I’m asking you to take one too.

Mentorship is meaningful not because we’re smart, it’s because we love it and we believe in it, and ourselves.

So if you believe, get in touch! Let’s find out what your contribution to the woodpile looks like.
